Car Entertainment - A large part of the drive I continued listening to Lamb. It's 15hrs long, so still trying to finish it. I'm almost halfway through it.
Gas update:
Spent $73.77 on gas today for a total of $591.14.
It is about a 4.5hr drive from the Grand Cayon area to Albuquerque. We got on the road about 8:30 so we would have plenty of time for stopping and stretching our legs along the way.
All I know about Albuquerque is that Bugs Bunny always said he should have made a left turn there, no matter where he was going. Good thing we have GPS!
We stopped in beautiful Flagstaff so R&C could play at dog park I found online. It was really large and had doggie playground equipment.
R&C bolted right out of the gate and made fast friends.
Charlie learned how to jump through the tire and found another dog's ball to claim as her own.
Rhino explored the doggie jungle gyms.
Then we hit the road for another couple of hours and stopped at the Petrified Forest National Park. Petrified Forest National Park (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)
It was really hot so we didn't stay long. I am glad we stopped to check it out, but after all the amazing stuff we had just seen this wasn't quite the same.
I am pretty sure Rhino is breaking some kind of law by peeing on a piece of petrified wood!!! Luckily no one saw him, and I didn't have to spring him out of puppy jail.
Photo op with the largest piece of petrified wood in the forest.
We made it to Albuquerque around dinner time and got settled in the hotel. Not even 10 minutes in the room, and I caught her in the act of trying to destroy another remote!
In the evening both R&C both got a much needed shampoo in the large handicap shower in our room. This meant that they had zoomies in the room for the next hour and a half while they dried off!
Zoomies included performing open heart surgery on Lamb Chop.
Off to Oklahoma City tomorrow.
