This is the beginning of the part of my trip where I won't be meeting anyone I know along the way, and I'm very truly alone (except for R&C). I needed a little girl power for inspiration!
We took a quick walk in the AM, stopped to get some strong coffee and were off!
Today was a much needed rest and travel day for all of us. The drive from Boulder to Grand Junction was nothing short of spectacular. The views were absolutely amazing the entire trip. The terrain changed about three times from the Rocky Mountains, to the Red Rock Canyons, to the Mesa Tables (yes that is what they call it...redundant, right?).
I am not a good multi-tasker so taking pictures while driving was out of the question, but we did stop at a rest stop in Grizzly Creek to stretch our legs about 90 min out from Grand Junction. This was one hell of a beautiful rest stop!
There were people putting in here to white water raft and kayak. Rhino wanted to kayak, but I had to tell him no.
Charlie was excited about the view. Rhino was excited about drinking the water.
One we made it to Grand Junction it was mid-afternoon which was a little late to hit any hikes. Instead we found a dog park in Canyon View Park. This was a huge dog park with a bunch of pups and water! R&C had a blast, got their zoomies out and made more friends.
There was a small pond there and R&C got bit more adventurous than yesterday getting into the water. Charlie really started figuring it out and seemed like she was trying to teach Rhino.
I caught Rhino mid-shake after putting his whole head in the water.
A great travel day and R&C are out before 8PM! Early morning start tomorrow so we can get to Sand Hollow Park, UT in time to enjoy the day.
